I am coming to understand that the choices we make during our early years shapes who we become later in life. Add a degree of racism and sexism to it and you get what you get. I get it now.Bev Mahonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09715290347159420532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327421042629762651.post-52059729477515042072014-05-11T08:41:01.224-05:002014-05-11T08:41:01.224-05:00Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post...Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post and responding. How've you been? You know I am bad on names but the face is one I certainly recognize :) Are you still writing? If I recall you've written some powerful posts as well---with your OWN story to tell. Be Blessed.Bev Mahonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09715290347159420532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327421042629762651.post-90923053577740693832014-05-10T10:35:24.099-05:002014-05-10T10:35:24.099-05:00Thank you for the reminder that we all make choice...Thank you for the reminder that we all make choices and choices have consequences---negative and positive. We do the best we can. I like that you said t does not do any good to dwell on disappointments. I also like that you do not base your self-worth on your net worth!Fran Caronahttp://www.bytesfromababyboomer.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327421042629762651.post-10585261063324092382013-12-20T21:22:04.701-05:002013-12-20T21:22:04.701-05:00Chief Wiz,

I do agree with you but I also believe it is a part of who we are as "human beings" to compare ourselves to others and to think of the "would've, could've, should've." We can redefine success as we go and what may be success to me may not be success to you. Sadly, too many of us measure success by the world's standards---and yes, I am guilty of that.Bev Mahonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09715290347159420532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327421042629762651.post-90487352947027759132013-12-20T08:56:37.956-05:002013-12-20T08:56:37.956-05:00Great story! In the eyes of the world, she's more powerful, but in the eyes of God, we're all the same. You certainly have a story to tell and there are so many who need to hear it as your contribution to this world is equally as powerful and important. Keep writing Beverly... it gives us all something to think about. <3 A Blessed Day in the Life...https://www.blogger.com/profile/11820131746574209777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327421042629762651.post-1729145457706383382013-10-26T15:11:32.459-05:002013-10-26T15:11:32.459-05:00Oprah frankly has little to do with you using your...Oprah frankly has little to do with you using your talents. I think that the point at which we accept our platforms and work from there is the time we begin to shine and when we can best help others to shine. Ambition is only natural. And there is a letdown when we do not meet our own expectations. But the beauty is we can redefine success as we go through life. You have real experiences to prove this and to make a difference in other's lives.Patricia A. Pattonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00986707634004442776noreply@blogger.com
