Yes I am 19 years old and I feel the same way. Needless to say you are a generation of entitlement. The worst generation of entitlement to date. You will cut schooling budgets in order keep spending on your Medicare and Social Security, which my "future" kids and their future kids will have to pay for out of their taxes .Oh, but there won't be any left for them, you only care about yourself.

Oh and the complaining, stop whining about other generations, when you lived the longest and ruined Americas already corrupt system. Plus, with a large slice of hypocrisy, you are false prophets - fakes. Your marching came down with a crash as you turned into the 80s pigs. Who were "All American, Corrupt" and chanted for the death of countries and nukes.
You became the "elite- corporation/industry/government whiners" you were once against but tell us to shut up about it. Sounds a little hypocritical hunh?

It is not an easy situation to be in. You need the EKG and they decide it isn't what you need. I agree that contesting their decision is what you should do. People contest all the time, and some times they succeed (and sometimes you don't).

There is at least one third-party company you can turn to for assistance with contesting insurance denials. Called Kare360, they are an affordable means to sorting out healthcare and health insurance company issues.

The pharmaceutical companies in bed with the insurance companies and the doctors---keeping poor patients drugged up so they will have to keep relying on them--while the insurance companies keep taking our hard earned money and denying us coverage.

Somewhere along the line, insurance companies forgot that the reason why we take out insurance is to be able to cope when things go wrong. However, insurance companies think it is about money - their money, Like hold on - how did they get their money in the first place? Right they bought assets with our payments and by finding ways of not paying out.
Good luck with your heart, I think its why I hate doctors and hospitals and am glad that I live outside of the USA.
Oh and the insurance companies are only one way of killing off the boomers.
I think we need to remember how we changed the world years ago and take back the world.

First, I am sorry to hear about your medical condition and situation.

It won't help your situation to hear that this is pretty common among insurance companies.

There was a movie starring Danny DeVito several years ago, in which, during the lawsuit against the insurance company, they had to admit that their 1st, 2nd, 3d etc way of dealing with a claim was to deny it and hope that the insured would just give up or die.....

I was sent to the emergency room by an ER crew, spent 6 hours while the medical personnel tried to diagnose the problem, numerous tests, etc- got denied by my insurance company even though ER is fully covered under my policy. I had the hospital give me (they wanted to charge about $75 for my medical records) my medical records- I filed a formal complaint with the insurance company and had the attending physician send in a detailed letter stating that it was a medical necessity for me to have gone to the ER- anyway, I mounted a full-blown attack against their denial and they did cave in and pay for the coverage. And this was BCBS- a major insurer that pulled this kind of nonsense! Insurance companies hope you will fold up and crawl away- just keep paying the premiums....

Insurance companies are regulated in every state- contact the insurance licensing bureau in your state.

Paula Deen appears to excusing herself by saying she doesn't recommend that people eat like she cooks all the time. Just as the fast food restaurants said they didn't expect people to eat every meal there.And, the cigarette manufacturers tried for years to defend themselves by saying, "We're not making anyone smoke. It's a choice." Truly, unhealthy food choices are attractive and cheap. Education is the key to helping people understand what their choices mean to their health. As someone who's already on a pen, I have no problems with Paula Deen and I'm happy for her that she was able to last so long before having to deal with this issue.

What I don't like are some of the potshots people are taking at her; if they're not diabetic they have no concept of what it's about and should just shut up about it. I don't know much about her (never had any of her recipes) but she's a business woman and what she does for her business, or advertising later on, has nothing to do with her health issue. I wish I didn't have it.

I agree that Paula's recipes are full of fat and all kind of things we should not eat a lot of. I disagree that anyone making the recipes from her show or books is "non-suspecting" or "gullible." You'd have to be living under a rock not to know that if you eat like Paula cooks all the time, you are not eating healthfully, and you will gain weight and/or develop other serious medical conditions.

In my opinion, anyone who is obese due to making and eating foods from Paula's show or books has themselves to thank for it. How can we put that on Paula?

I agree, Beverly, that we boomers are being treated for obesity, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and Type 2 diabetes in huge numbers.

But I don't think we can put all the blame on Paula Deen.

After all, I like to think we are fairly intelligent beings, and as such, not so gullible that we can say we DIDN'T KNOW those butter laden dishes of Paula's were two things: decadently delicious and only to be eaten in moderation.

As a PWD2 - person with type two diabetes - I well recall that I went into shock when I was diagnosed. I recall I FREAKED OUT, trying to figure out what was safe to eat. Especially because I was about to head off on a cruise when I got the news.

And somehow, I had the fear that there would be NOTHING available to eat on that ship which would be healthy.

Of course there was: cruise ships these days offer plenty of healthy food options, and of course, one also has plenty of opportunity to get some exercise, even if all you do is walk from your stateroom to the dining room!!

But as for what I could eat: my doctor sent me to a dietician, and I got that all figured out fairly quickly. Newly diagnosed PDWs DO need help, advice and hand-holding for a little while, while they get their blood sugar numbers under control and figure out what works for them.

These days my blood sugar numbers are always under 110, and my disease is under good control, simply with diet and exercise.

Paula's team-up with Novo Nordisk is going to be interesting. But for now, you have to say they are getting their money's worth considering all the free publicity that is being generated.

There is no guarantee that if you do have kids, any of them will be responsible and want to "take care of" you when you are old and sick.

Also it's a very irrationally selfish attitude to expect someone to be a sacrificial animal and tend to you 24/7 uncompensated when you are old and sick.

Best thing is to have an agent do this. My dad had terminal illness and three shifts of nurses 24/7 for several months and died in his home. I could not be there for him because I was in charge of "taking care of" my aunt who was in an assisted living home. I worked full time and had a girlfriend - so had relationship maintenance duties. The point is that I could have turned out to be a crooked nephew and done nothing. No guarantees.

I am a male boomer and did not realize until recently that men over 40 have a greater risk of offspring who are autistic, bipolar, or schizophrenic. In the face of this, the media points to big name older celebrity fathers, such as 68 year old Robert Deniro, who recently fathered another kid.

I wanted to avoid being a father until later because I could not afford the time / money in my 30s and especially 20s.

How do you spell euthanaisia? Boomers, as the current biggest voting block, should have strong incentive to not be so greedy about healthcare.

I had an old woman for a neighbor. She moved to a semi-retirement village from the home she'd lived in for a long time -- before she needed to live in a retirement village. She did so so she could make the choice, instead of having to rely on her children to make the best decision for her. She was very wise.

Boomers should take a reasonable view of healthcare, not a greedy one. That way they can be part of the decision process. If they are greedy, we younger generations will certainly be fed up paying for all of your excesses, and start pulling the plugs on your ventilators, monitors and dialysis machines.

Think about it.
