Name My CD

This holiday season I’d like to partner up with one of you to make a generous donation to our favorite charities.

I have put together a Holiday CD, complete with Spoken Word and Music. It's a project I started working on before the book promotion and now it's finally complete. If you've gone to my website recently and listened to "Who Stole My Body" you'll have some idea of how I mix spoken words with music.

I need a name for the CD. Here's what's on it:

"Twas the Night before Christmas" (music: Winter Wonderland)

"Not Only Christmas Day" beautiful poem written by a woman named Mary Fairchild www.christianity.about.com (music: What Child is This)

"The Birth of Jesus" (music: O Holy Night)

Plus TWO light-hearted pieces including “12 Days of a Menopausal Christmas.”

This project has been on my heart for awhile. It's just my way of giving back because of the blessings I've received.

O.K...so here's the deal....If you come up with a name for the CD and it's chosen (I think I'll let my husband make the decision), I'll give you a free copy AND donate a portion of the proceeds to YOUR favorite charity. I already have one of my own that I'm planning to donate to. I expect to sell tons of these CD's & downloads (both on and off line) so your charity will love you love you love you love you.....

So, that's it. I'd like to have a name by Sunday so I can start the promotion on Monday. You can come up with as many names as you can think of.

As always I appreciate your support!

Peace & Blessings,

Baby Boomer Women Rock the Casbah!

Here are some comments from my fabulous baby boomer cheerleaders!!!

Bev,

I am thrilled at what you have been able to accomplish.

I've been thinking about my book for quite a while now, and quite honestly, I was feeling overwhelmed at the thought of trying to get a publisher, and an agent... I just wasn't sure if I could go through that painstaking process.

Spending time with you last night turned my thinking around. You are an inspiration.

If you can do this, so can I!!!!! I've seen your process - it is perfectly repeatable (ladies - ANY of YOU can do this!!!!), and I'm going to go for it! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I'm solidifying my outline and I'll begin working on the book itself after the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thank you Beverly, for sharing your story with us. Thank you for being so accessible, so open, and so giving of information.

You are an amazing woman. You deserve all the glory that's coming to you - just look at how many people your book is going to help through menopause.

You took Amazon by storm. You go girl!

You are an inspiration. THANK YOU!!!!

Warmly,
Jenn

Hi Beverly,

As an author myself, I have to applaud you and the success that you had with your Amazon #1 Bestsellers day. You and the women here at Ryze created quite a stir on Amazon. It is no wonder that people are calling you now trying to find out what your secret is.

I praise God for your success and continue to pray for the best of everything as you move forward as an author and a speaker.

Blessings,

Hi Beverly,

You made a wonderful showing and we are all very happy and pleased to be a part of your success.

You know being number one isn't always about the "1,".....our plan and "the plan" sometimes takes a different route.

I believe this is only a stepping stone for a higher plan.
From your post I know that you believe that too, so, I would say you are a big winner this first time out.

I'm looking forward to reading your book and the next one, and who knows?

Congratulations!!

A November To Remember!

Beverly, my dear!

I was one of those people at work, but clicking over every hour on the hour to watch you leap forward to that #1 spot. I got caught up in the excitement and to me, YOU ARE # 1. I'm so proud of you!!!

Hugs and Blessings,

Betty

A Murder in Dallas

I was actually going to write about something else today but the death of the brother of a dear friend of mine takes precedent because it causes a moment of reflection in the life of this baby boomer.

My friend Ora called me yesterday from California to tell me the news. Apparently her 47-year-old brother was murdered by a boy he was caring for as a foster parent. It is also alleged that the boy's mother was also involved in the crime. It was a gruesome scene and there is also irony in this story; The reporter covering the story is another friend of mine: Emily Lopez. I think they call this six degrees of separation.

Ora was amazingly calm to me as she gave me the details of her brother's death. She also told me how she asked her brother more than once not to take in any at-risk kids--especially teenagers and those on medication. She was so calm...it was me who was torn up about his death and I didn't even know him.

But knowing Ora, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, she has the peace of God deep down in her soul. God is comforting her in ways I don't understand. He has lifted her to a place where she can rest assured that her brother will be OK in the arms of Jesus.

This, for me, is a time of reflection. Although life is precious, it can be taken away from you in an instant. As a baby boomer...as one who has stood up for the rights and welfare of at-risk kids..., I now have to question is there any hope for them once they reach a certain age. Have they been damaged so severely by parents and passed from foster parent to foster parent so much that they have the "I don't give a damn!" attitude? These are questions I will ponder for awhile as I grieve with my dear friend and sister in Christ.
